Book 1 - Trouble

Dr. Owlkin and Nurse Sharky receive an alert of a dog causing trouble and go to see if they can help. When they arrive, they see a Bloodhound with extraordinarily long ears being scolded by the other animal shop owners. They learn that the Bloodhound is lost. They also learn about her seemingly magical ears and how this “difference” has saved her from these angry shop owners.

Book 2 - King Tux

King Tux is picked up from a shelter by mean old Mr. Grumps. Mr. Grumps wants King Tux to kill the mice in his barn because they scare the horses. King Tux does not want to do this. He meets another cat, Scooter, who also lives in the barn. Together they plan an escape.

A raging storm comes through the town of Hopeville and Doctor Owlkin and his helpers have to hide in the basement to be safe. Goldie was born with her right forearm missing but she was still able to become a super support dog. She lives with a squirrel, Mrs. Burke, as her caretaker. Buddy Bear is the first book in the series where Doctor Owlkin and The H.O.M.E. Team go out into the world to help other animals. Buddy Bear might not be the biggest, the fastest, or the smartest, but he is the friendliest.


While playing hide and seek in the woods with his friends Buddy Bear smells, and then hears, a forest fire! Book 8 – Taylor the Turtle stays in her shell most of the time. Taylor is not necessarily shy, she is autistic.

Doctor Owlkin and The H.O.M.E. Team help her out of her shell, and she makes a lot of friends. When Taylor invites King Tux into her shell, he sees that Taylor is very talented at writing computer software. The world comes to recognize Taylor’s talents!

 

Book 9 – Happy the Horse, born with Down’s Syndrome, brings joy wherever she goes! Doctor Owlkin and The H.O.M.E. Team teach Happy and all the other animals that an extra chromosome makes her extra special.
